Am I responsible for a previous owner’s unpaid water bill?

Yes, as with all other past due charges, you inherit this lien against the property. See Article XIII, Section 2 and Article IX, Section 10 of the By-laws. You can contact the Sky Meadows Ranch Treasurer or Secretary to find out if property is in good standing. Again, please make sure this information is collected and dealt with at closing. If you don’t, you will be joining the Sky Meadows Ranch community with a past due account and will not have water service until the account is paid in full. If you are using an escrow company (highly recommended) to close your transaction, the escrow company should contact the secretary at smrsecretary@outlook.com and any water bills or other past due items will be provided to them for payment at closing.
